Max Clark，2023 年選秀第 3 順位，簽約金 $7.7M。出生Indiana ，父親開卡車，母親教特教，從小在教會長大¹。高中三年連莊 Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year，最後一季 .646/.808，28 場拿 52 次保送。代表 Team USA 在 U-18 World Cup 轟了一支再見全壘打擊敗加拿大²。

2026年初MLB Pipeline 第 8 號 prospect。Tigers 的未來 CF。21 歲。X、Instagram、TikTok 加起來超過 100 萬 followers¹。

2026 年春訓，14 個打席打了 2-for-18³。

2-for-18

春訓戴鑽石項鍊上場打球已經有人不高興了，然後他在 Instagram 貼了一張 Santo Domingo 的照片，Louis Vuitton 箱子打開，裡面是名錶和百元鈔票¹。接著對 Braves 的比賽掉了兩顆飛球。

Clark 回了一句 “People don’t know me. It’s just a personality thing.” 他說 15 歲就開始面對這些了¹。Hinch 某種程度辯護說 Clark “incredible to be around everyday”，SNS上的批評 “can be incredibly unfair.”⁴

3 月 9 日下放。同一天，同年選秀進來的 Kevin McGonigle 還在大聯盟。McGonigle 後來直接進 Opening Day roster，開季 .364/.440/.545，wRC+ 187⁵。

Clark 去 Triple-A Toledo。之前在 Double-A 只打了 43 場，等於跳了一整個層級³。

The tattoo and the long commute

下放之後某個時間點，Clark 在手臂上紋了一句話紀念第一次大聯盟春訓：“Every fall is a chance to rise.”⁴

另一個細節：他特別要求住離球場遠一點的公寓。訪問裡的說法是 “This game will take it out of you.”⁴ 他需要一個能把棒球關在門外的地方。

21 歲的超齡孩子，刻意安排自己跟棒球的心理與物理的距離。

10 games in Toledo

Toledo 開季。

10 場：.421/.500/.605，BB/K 比 8:3，盜壘 5-for-5⁴。

首場 Triple-A，0-for-2，但拿了 2 保送 1 盜壘。第二場敲出 110.8 mph exit velo 的二壘打⁴。接下來 6 場連續安打，其中 5 場多安打³。守備這邊，完美守備率，4 次外野助殺，一次 diving catch 轉雙殺，MLB.com 剪了 highlight⁴³。

10 場的數字會 regress，但底下有一條三年的趨勢線：

K% 逐年降，BB% 逐年升⁶。打擊率會震盪，但一個 21 歲打者連續三個層級壓低三振同時拉高保送，這條軌跡比單月 slash line 值錢得多。

下放後第一場選擇保送而不是猛揮棒。

The odd couple

Clark 和 McGonigle 的關係不是春訓才開始的。兩人 15 歲就認識，2022 年一起代表 Team USA 拿下 WBSC U-18 World Cup 金牌。2023 年同屆首輪，差 34 順位（Clark 第 3，McGonigle 第 37），進 Tigers 系統後從 Low-A Lakeland 到 High-A West Michigan 到 Double-A Erie 一路同期升。春訓背號連號，Clark #84，McGonigle #85⁷。

Cody Stavenhagen 在 The Athletic 把他們寫成 “the odd couple driving the Tigers’ future”⁴。打擊風格互補：McGonigle 是 power hitter，Clark 是 gap-to-gap 的 contact 打者⁷。兩個人評價對方的方式也不一樣。McGonigle 談 Clark 說 “that kid is gonna be a star… I really can’t even put it into words”⁵。Motor City Bengals 的專訪裡更簡潔：「Great baseball player. Better human.」⁷

Clark 自己的版本比較長：「Having that guy by my side every single day is a special feeling because he knows things about me and I know things about him. When we’re down and we’re struggling, or even when we’re having success, we can bounce everything off each other. The amount of times that dude has pulled me out of a slump by just telling me to hit the damn ball and not think about it is crazy… It’s more than teammates at this point. We’re best friends.」⁷

他另外把兩人的關係比作 Chase Utley 和 Bryce Harper⁴。

Ken Rosenthal 說：如果這兩人都到天花板的話，Tigers 就有爭冠常態隊形了⁵。McGonigle 在大聯盟端，開幕戰 4 安，自 Ken Griffey Jr. 以來最年輕的 Opening Day 4 安打者。

When does the call come

Jim Callis（MLB.com）猜 6 月 11 日 call-up，理由是 “Max is the type of guy that doesn’t have to hit to help you win”，速度和防守本身就有價值⁸。Jonathan Mayo 覺得可能更早，大聯盟外野 “beyond Riley Greene” 撐不住⁸。

但 Clark 跳過大半的 AA，Toledo 同時是首測和補考。Hinch 傾向謹慎，Parker Meadows 打 .280/.357/.400 也不算需要立刻換人⁸。SI 覺得 8 月比較合理³。

我也偏 8 月。6 月上來贏一個月 service time，8 月上來可能贏十年的發展完整度。Harris 在 MLB Network Radio 提到 Jackson Jobe 預計 8 月才從 TJS rehab 歸隊，組織對加速升級的標準不低⁴。

不過 Clark 可能不在乎我的時間表。

The opening that wasn’t

4 月 9 日，Parker Meadows 在 Target Field 和 Riley Greene 追 Josh Bell 的飛球時正面對撞。Greene 接到球站了起來，Meadows 倒在草皮上沒動。擔架、送醫、過夜觀察⁹。球迷當晚就開始喊 call-up Clark。

傷比初報嚴重得多。不只是 concussion：左前臂骨折，嘴巴內側撕裂縫了五針，再加腦震盪。4/11 進 10-day IL，4/13 轉 60-day IL，最快 6/9 才能歸隊。手術可能性未排除¹⁰。上季右臂神經傷勢的陰影還沒散，現在換左臂。

Tigers 叫上來的不是 Clark，是 Wenceel Pérez¹¹。

Hinch 講得很直接：「In regards to Max Clark, no, he wasn’t in consideration to come up. We’ve been very consistent with him needing time to continue the development.」¹¹

然後補了一句：「He’s taken everything that we have asked him to do and started to apply it in Triple-A… whether that’s on the bases, on defense or certainly the bat. He will factor in more and more as these things develop.」¹¹

組織頂住了最明顯的加速升級理由，沒有動搖。Meadows 的 60-day IL 意味著至少到 6 月中以前，大聯盟的 CF 是 Matt Vierling 和 Pérez 的組合。Tigers 掃了 Marlins 三場之後回到 7-9。如果這組合撐不住，壓力只會繼續累積。

So what does it mean

春訓 14 個打席的 2-for-18 連統計噪音都算不上，本身不是什麼問題。比較有意思的是後面的反應：沒有在社群上吵，沒有帶著委屈到 Toledo 揮大棒。紋了一句話，搬到離球場遠的地方住，第一場用保送開局。

Clark 在 Toledo 打了 12 場：.413，1.121 OPS，9 BB，4 K，8 2B，6 SB¹²。K% 逐年下降的趨勢、刻意管理心理距離的習慣、下放隔天的保送。這些行為能不能預測他未來十年的樣子？還太早說。

手臂上那句話沒寫日期。但 Hinch 講的是 “when”，不是 “if”。
